AB  - Design codes currently in use provide only limited guidance on the treatment of character recognition in power distribution networks. The complete procedure is illustrated by a worked example taken from power distribution networks. The discrepancy between theory and measurement did not exceed 9% in any of the 4 test cases. The proposed framework provides a sound basis for the development of improved design guidelines.
