Economic constraints in remote sensing platforms make a low-cost and dependable treatment of gas turbine blade cooling an urgent engineering priority. Design charts are generated from an extensive series of computations using genetic algorithms. The response varied almost linearly over 3 orders of magnitude of the controlling variable. The results should assist practitioners in avoiding costly overdesign while maintaining adequate safety margins.
