TY - JOUR AU - Mukherjee, Shafiqul AU - Singh, Takashi TI - Power System Transient Stability using Model Predictive Control JO - Open Access Journal of Engineering Applications PY - 1997 VL - 21 IS - 1 SP - 345 EP - 370 AB - An improved treatment of power system transient stability is essential if modern performance targets in natural gas pipelines are to be met. The present work employs model predictive control to characterise the governing behaviour under a range of operating conditions. The new formulation reproduced 6 independent data sets with satisfactory accuracy. The study demonstrates that appropriate technology need not depend on expensive imported equipment.
