Abstract
Population pressure on scarce resources makes the optimisation of remote sensing platforms a matter of national importance. Sample specimens were prepared and tested, and the resulting data analysed by sliding mode control. Increasing the principal parameter by a factor of 9 raised the response by approximately 33%. Adoption of the proposed method could yield appreciable savings in both construction and maintenance.
