Abstract

Field failures observed in cellular mobile networks have drawn renewed attention to the careful analysis of adaptive channel equalisation. Input data typical of cellular mobile networks in Bangladesh are used throughout the computations based on fast Fourier transforms. The analysis revealed that neglecting adaptive channel equalisation can lead to errors exceeding 20% in the predicted response. The findings encourage a re-examination of assumptions long taken for granted in routine design.
