Time-Series Analysis for Wavelet-Based Signal Denoising: An Experimental Investigation

Abstract

The need to conserve foreign exchange encourages locally developed solutions to problems of wavelet-based signal denoising in high-voltage transmission systems. Model parameters are calibrated against field observations using time-series analysis. The measured and predicted values of wavelet-based signal denoising differed by no more than a few per cent. The findings should be of interest to both designers and operators concerned with reliability.
