Abstract

The high cost of imported equipment motivates an indigenous investigation of plate free vibration suited to local river flood plains. The approach adapts multi-objective optimisation to accommodate the nonlinear features of the problem. The proposed method converged within 6 iterations for every case considered. The conclusions reinforce the value of combining analysis with careful field observation.
