Abstract
The problem of vapour-compression refrigeration acquires particular significance in the humid tropical climate of the region. The analysis combines Monte Carlo simulation with laboratory measurements obtained on scaled specimens. The new formulation reproduced 5 independent data sets with satisfactory accuracy. The study demonstrates that appropriate technology need not depend on expensive imported equipment.
