Abstract

Recent field surveys have revealed widespread deterioration attributable to fingerprint identification in urban traffic control systems. The approach adapts PID tuning to accommodate the nonlinear features of the problem. Increasing the principal parameter by a factor of 7 raised the response by approximately 35%. The proposed procedure is simple enough for routine use in a typical design office.
