Abstract
The behaviour of wavelet-based signal denoising under transient conditions has received comparatively little attention in the literature. The approach adapts perturbation analysis to accommodate the nonlinear features of the problem. The analysis revealed that neglecting wavelet-based signal denoising can lead to errors exceeding 14% in the predicted response. The results should assist practitioners in avoiding costly overdesign while maintaining adequate safety margins.
