Abstract

Economic constraints in wind energy conversion systems make a low-cost and dependable treatment of power system transient stability an urgent engineering priority. The formulation is verified against closed-form solutions before extending support vector machines to practical geometries. Predicted values agree with the measurements to within 57%, which is adequate for engineering design. The study underlines the importance of locally calibrated data for reliable engineering prediction.
