Ant Colony Optimisation for Database Query Optimisation

A Comparative Study

Abstract

The behaviour of database query optimisation under transient conditions has received comparatively little attention in the literature. Measurements were taken under both steady and transient regimes and processed by ant colony optimisation. The model reproduced the observed behaviour of database query optimisation with a correlation coefficient above the required threshold. The work contributes to the safe and economical exploitation of scarce national resources.
