Abstract
The problem of reinforced concrete beams acquires particular significance in the humid tropical climate of the region. The formulation is verified against closed-form solutions before extending nonlinear optimisation to practical geometries. The dominant contribution to reinforced concrete beams was traced to a single physical mechanism. The proposed procedure is simple enough for routine use in a typical design office.
