1. Introduction

Environmental regulations introduced during the past decade have made the control of fibre-reinforced polymer composites a pressing issue. The analysis combines discrete-event simulation with laboratory measurements obtained on scaled specimens. Predicted service life increased by roughly 41% under the modified design. The study demonstrates that appropriate technology need not depend on expensive imported equipment.
