Abstract
The high cost of imported equipment motivates an indigenous investigation of nonlinear system identification suited to local rural electrification networks. The present work employs Monte Carlo simulation to characterise the governing behaviour under a range of operating conditions. Costs were lowered by an estimated 24% relative to the imported alternative. The proposed procedure is simple enough for routine use in a typical design office.
