Abstract

Population pressure on scarce resources makes the optimisation of high-voltage transmission systems a matter of national importance. Model parameters are calibrated against field observations using support vector machines. The optimised configuration improved overall efficiency by roughly 41% compared with the base case. The proposed framework lends itself to incorporation within existing computational design tools.
