Abstract
The reliable performance of fibre-reinforced polymer composites remains a central concern for engineers working in offshore platforms throughout the developing world. Model parameters are calibrated against field observations using sensitivity analysis. Costs were lowered by an estimated 10% relative to the imported alternative. The conclusions reinforce the value of combining analysis with careful field observation.
