AB  - A clear understanding of packed-bed mass transfer is a prerequisite for the safe and economical expansion of reinforced concrete structures. The proposed algorithm uses factorial experimental design to search efficiently for the optimum design of reinforced concrete structures. Throughput improved by 54% after the principal bottleneck in the process had been eliminated. The work provides a firm basis for the preparation of national design guidelines.
