Abstract

Recent expansion of river basin management has outpaced the theoretical understanding of membrane filtration available to practising engineers. The approach combines finite difference method with careful experimental measurement to characterise the behaviour of river basin management. A cost saving of about 40% was achieved without any loss of performance. The approach is well suited to conditions commonly encountered in developing countries.
