Abstract

A clear understanding of edge detection is a prerequisite for the safe and economical expansion of earthen embankments. A finite set of representative scenarios for earthen embankments was selected for detailed analysis. The model reproduced the observed trend in edge detection with a correlation coefficient above 0.9. The approach is well suited to conditions commonly encountered in developing countries.
