Abstract
Population growth and land scarcity have forced engineers to reconsider how building seismic response should be handled in power distribution systems. Results obtained from response surface methodology were cross-checked against independent field observations gathered over the course of the study. The optimum configuration was reached after systematically evaluating 3 candidate designs drawn from the feasible region. The results have direct relevance to the safe operation of comparable facilities elsewhere.
