Abstract

Population growth and land scarcity have forced engineers to reconsider how slope stability should be handled in coastal flood protection. The problem was reformulated as an optimisation task and solved by factorial experimental design. The proposed controller improved the settling time by nearly 15% compared with the conventional tuning. The study points to several avenues that are worthy of further investigation.
