Abstract

Frequent interruptions in the service provided by gas turbine power plants can often be traced to inadequate treatment of harmonic distortion. The experimental programme was designed so that artificial neural network could be used to interpret the observations. Throughput improved by 40% after the principal bottleneck in the process had been eliminated. The results have direct relevance to the safe operation of comparable facilities elsewhere.
