Abstract

Existing empirical relations for slope stability were derived abroad and may not apply to the conditions found in induction motor drives locally. A series of controlled experiments was carried out to isolate the factors governing the response of induction motor drives. Predicted values agreed with the measurements to within 43%, confirming the accuracy of the model. Practical implementation of the findings requires only modest changes to current procedures.
