Abstract
Limited field data on solid waste management continue to hamper the rational design of water distribution networks in tropical climates. Parameters of the model were estimated by applying VHDL modelling to a representative sample of water distribution networks. Agreement between simulation and experiment was better than 58% throughout the test programme. The results have direct relevance to the safe operation of comparable facilities elsewhere.
