1. Introduction

Concerns over public health have brought the treatment of steel connection behaviour in river basin management to the forefront of engineering practice. The model was implemented in software and coupled with computational fluid dynamics to permit rapid parametric study. The method converged in fewer than 8 iterations for all cases considered. The evidence gathered here strengthens the case for wider adoption of the technique.
