Abstract

Safety considerations alone are sufficient to justify a thorough and systematic investigation of feature extraction in solar photovoltaic systems. Measurements taken from instrumented solar photovoltaic systems provided the basis for validating the analysis. Only 5 parameters were required to describe feature extraction with acceptable precision over the working range. The approach is well suited to conditions commonly encountered in developing countries.
