Abstract

The transition towards sustainable practice has made packed-bed mass transfer a key criterion in the assessment of tannery wastewater. A series of controlled experiments was carried out to isolate the factors governing the response of tannery wastewater. The model reproduced the observed trend in packed-bed mass transfer with a correlation coefficient above 0.9. Adoption of the recommended measures is likely to yield both economic and environmental benefits.
