Abstract

Scarce capital resources demand that reinforced concrete durability be addressed early in the planning of any multi-storey buildings. Sensitivity of the results to the key assumptions was examined through repeated application of linear programming. The strengthened design increased load capacity by 47% over the unmodified case. Further field validation is nevertheless recommended before the results are applied on a large scale.
