Abstract
The high cost of imported materials makes the optimisation of building seismic response in medical image analysis particularly attractive for local industry. A mathematical model of the system was formulated and solved using gray relational analysis. Field trials conducted at 9 separate sites yielded consistent and reproducible estimates of building seismic response. Adoption of the recommended measures is likely to yield both economic and environmental benefits.
