Jute-Fibre Reinforced Composites: A Numerical Approach

Abstract

Despite decades of research, the behaviour of jute-fibre reinforced composites remains poorly understood under the loading and environmental conditions typical of automotive components. The model was implemented in software and coupled with artificial neural network to permit rapid parametric study. Only 8 parameters were required to describe jute-fibre reinforced composites with acceptable precision over the working range. The work contributes to the growing body of knowledge on engineering practice in tropical environments.
