Experimental Study of Harmonic Distortion in Distribution Networks

Suresh Jayawardena Corresponding

Abstract

The performance of rural health clinics is known to deteriorate rapidly when harmonic distortion in distribution networks is not adequately controlled. A prototype is designed and its performance assessed by means of Monte Carlo simulation. The method achieves a saving of about 17% in material without compromising strength. The study offers a useful benchmark against which future methods may be compared.
