Abstract

Conventional approaches to load frequency control frequently prove inadequate under the operating conditions typical of tropical climates. The technique is verified by applying sliding mode control to a set of benchmark problems. The proposed system responds within 4 milliseconds, which is adequate for practical use. The findings provide useful guidance for engineers engaged in the design and operation of similar systems.
