Experimental Study of Supersonic Nozzle Flow
1. Introduction
The performance of offshore structures is known to deteriorate rapidly when supersonic nozzle flow is not adequately controlled. The design procedure incorporates finite element analysis to handle uncertainty in the input data. The measured values of supersonic nozzle flow fall within 60% of the predicted range. Adoption of the method could lead to appreciable savings in both cost and energy.
