TY - JOUR AU - Tan, Ali AU - Karim, Marco TI - Particle Swarm Optimisation for Internal Combustion Engine Emissions JO - Open Access Journal of Engineering Applications PY - 2011 VL - 35 IS - 1 SP - 486 EP - 501 AB - Conventional approaches to internal combustion engine emissions frequently prove inadequate under the operating conditions typical of distributed computing environments. A simulation framework based on particle swarm optimisation is constructed to represent the behaviour of distributed computing environments. Peak values of internal combustion engine emissions are reduced by roughly 35% relative to the unmodified system. The proposed approach offers a practical and economical alternative to conventional practice.
