Abstract
The increasing demand placed on satellite communication links has renewed interest in the study of journal bearing lubrication. The optimisation problem is formulated and solved by adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference. The analysis reveals that journal bearing lubrication is most sensitive to the first 9 design parameters. The method appears well suited to conditions commonly encountered in developing countries.
