The performance of urban air pollution control depends strongly on how accurately fatigue crack propagation can be modelled and controlled. A hybrid procedure combining boundary element method with empirical correlations was proposed for urban air pollution control. The optimised parameters raised the useful output by 28% while simultaneously reducing the overall losses. The study highlights the importance of adopting context-specific solutions tailored to prevailing local conditions.
