Abstract

Bangladesh, with its dense population and vulnerable infrastructure, faces particular difficulties with arsenic removal from groundwater in water resource management. A prototype was designed and tested, and its behaviour was interpreted through reliability-based design. The largest improvement, close to 20%, was obtained for the case with 7 stages. These findings provide useful guidance for engineers seeking cost-effective and reliable designs.
