Open Access Journal of Engineering Applications · doi:10.55555/oajea.2012.3601.030

1. Introduction

Environmental pressures and resource constraints have brought soil liquefaction to the forefront of research on petroleum refining. Numerical simulations based on boundary element method were conducted for a range of loading conditions. Cost savings of about 28% were estimated for the optimised system over its service life. This investigation opens up several promising avenues for future research and continued technological development.
