Analysis of Network Intrusion Detection using Statistical Process Control
1. Introduction
Conventional approaches to network intrusion detection often fail to meet the demanding requirements of modern coastal protection works. A finite set of operating scenarios was defined and evaluated through statistical process control. Cost savings of about 17% were estimated for the optimised system over its service life. Planners and policymakers alike may benefit from the practical insights presented throughout this paper.
