Tightening regulations on renewable energy systems have prompted a re-examination of established practice for reinforced concrete beams. Numerical simulations based on finite difference method were conducted for a range of loading conditions. The closed-loop system remained stable for sudden load variations of up to 41% of the rating. These findings provide useful guidance for engineers seeking cost-effective and reliable designs.
