Abstract
The reliable supply of energy to remote sensing applications has become a pressing concern as demand continues to grow across the developing world. Field surveys of remote sensing applications provided the dataset to which reliability-based design was subsequently applied. A payback period of roughly 2 years was estimated for the proposed installation. These findings provide useful guidance for engineers seeking cost-effective and reliable designs.
