Abstract
Ageing infrastructure and deferred maintenance have made additive manufacturing of metal parts a recurring concern for operators of biomedical instrumentation. Scenarios reflecting typical conditions in biomedical instrumentation are constructed and evaluated in turn. The strongest effect was associated with additive manufacturing of metal parts, which accounted for nearly 41% of the response. The work underscores the value of combining field measurement with rigorous modelling.
