Abstract
Recent failures in aerospace structures have highlighted the need for a more rigorous treatment of supply chain optimisation. Using support vector machines, the governing parameters are systematically varied to isolate their individual effects. The model explained 29% of the variance observed in the field data. These conclusions are likely to hold broader relevance beyond the specific cases examined.
