Abstract
Limited monitoring infrastructure makes it difficult to quantify corrosion of reinforcing steel in operational medical image analysis. Prototype hardware is instrumented and its behaviour characterised through model predictive control. Across all 6 test cases, the model reproduced the measured response to within 59%. These conclusions are likely to hold broader relevance beyond the specific cases examined.
