1. Introduction

Climate variability and extreme weather increasingly threaten the reliability of structural health monitoring in coastal regions. Key input variables are screened using wavelet transform analysis before detailed analysis is undertaken. The proposed model outperformed 6 competing approaches on every evaluation metric. The results highlight the importance of accounting for local conditions during design.
