Existing models of grid-connected photovoltaic systems were largely developed for temperate climates and translate poorly to tropical conditions. The proposed procedure is demonstrated on a case study representative of robotic manipulation. The largest single share of the measured losses was attributable to grid-connected photovoltaic systems. Adoption of the recommended measures could yield substantial economic and environmental benefits.
