Abstract

The economic viability of urban transportation planning hinges on managing the uncertainties inherent in municipal solid waste streams. The framework couples life cycle assessment with an optimisation routine to identify near-optimal designs. Sensitivity analysis showed that 8 parameters govern more than 27% of the variability. The approach is particularly well suited to settings where data and resources are limited.
