Abstract

In many developing economies, rapid urbanization, ageing infrastructure, and increasingly variable climatic loads place mounting pressure on municipal solid waste sites. The methodology integrates X-ray diffraction analysis with uncertainty quantification to capture variability observed in municipal solid waste sites. Estimates of greenhouse gas emissions from paddy fields agreed with measurements to within 25%. The demonstrated gains suggest that meaningful reductions in lifecycle cost are achievable at scale.
