Abstract
The transition toward low-carbon infrastructure places coastal embankments at the centre of debates over resource efficiency and resilience. Numerical predictions from reinforcement learning were compared against a benchmark dataset from coastal embankments. The optimized system recovered its investment within 5 years under typical usage. The demonstrated reliability makes the method a credible candidate for standard practice.
